MATHS Score Superior Results on 2009 HSA Exams
MATHS students have produced superior scores on the 2009 High School Assessments. In all four exams (English, Algebra, Government and Biology), MATHS students significantly outpaced Baltimore City schools, with passing scores nearly double that of City averages in Algebra and Biology.
TutorCorps Program
With partial funding from Americorps, MATHS has launched an innovative 1 year fellowship program for recent college graduates called the TutorCorps Fellowship Program. The 2009-2010 cohort is composed of 4 fellows: Tracy Petruzziello (Loyola College), Alex Plimack (Towson University), Emily Smith (Boston University) and Elizabeth Spurgeon (Elon University). MATHS Students to Attend Harvard University Conference
Eight MATHS students have been selected to
participate in Harvard University's Harvard Model Congress in

Brown Family Foundation Awards MATHS Grant for Girls' Mentoring Program
The Brown Family Foundation has awarded a grant to support Dreams in Progress, a girls mentoring program at MATHS.
MATHS Receives $65,000 Facility Grant from Mayor's Office
Mayor Sheila Dixon's Office has awarded MATHS a $65,000 grant to be used toward facility renovation. MATHS plans to use the funds to build a new biotechnology science lab.
MATHS partners with Infinity Project at Southern Methodist University
MATHS has partnered with The Infinity Project, a national award winning high school and early college math- and science-based engineering and technology education initiative, to provide students with a hands-on, rigorous engineering curriculum.
