Enjoy this beautiful season.

Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) Golf Outing - - August Newsletter . . .

Dear Isaiah,
Our Annual Golf Outing was a major success, and we're looking forward to rewarding the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry with a portion of the proceeds at our Holiday Gala in December. Thank you all! For more information visit the NMCC web site.

Schools are open – please remember to drive carefully.   We are still accepting school supply donations to help our clients who have school aged children.  If you require additional information or wish to donate feel free to contact Associate Director Marge Conway during our hours of operation.
Summer (Plus) Volunteers – were of great assistance to our organization.  We were fortunate again this year to have several school aged volunteers help us with the pantry operation and/or monthly Foodbank deliveries not only through the Summer but also throughout the school year (i.e. School closed due to holiday, etc.).  We had a total of twelve (12) volunteers and between all of them they volunteered one hundred and twenty three (123) hours.  These youngsters volunteered some of their Summer vacation and other days because they wanted to make a difference.  They were able to see for themselves how many families are struggling everyday to make ends meet.  All of them demonstrated a great sense of respect, dedication, and responsibility.  To say thank you for volunteering some of their summer vacation and other days we had a little get-together for them at the Keyport IHOP and presented each of them with a certificate of appreciation for their service to the KMFP.  We truly enjoyed having them and wish them a great school year.  We would also like to say Thank You to their parents for allowing their sons/daughters to perform this community work and for raising such fine young men and women.  Some of our Summer volunteers were not able to attend the get-together but we want to recognize them as well and say thank you to Christopher, Joey, James, Benny, Patrick, Jake, Stuart and Steve.

There is still no relief –  people continue to seek assistance. The figures below speak for themselves.  All your food and monetary donations toward food helped us feed these families.  We thank all our current supporters and hope that you can continue to help us.  If you are new to our organization we hope you will consider joining all our great supporters – please visit How You Can Help or for any additional information on food donations or monetary donation (for food) contact Associate Director Marge Conway during our hours of operation.

KMFP Volunteers  – are dedicated to the cause. Some individuals are considered by some as the core of the organization they belong to because they are always there to help in any way they can.  The KMFP has a total of seventeen (17) volunteers (regular and part time) who ARE the core and provide endless hours to the organization.  What do they do?  Here are a few examples – go shopping for food, on hand for monthly delivery from the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, make up food bags for distribution, stack shelves, bread/pastry pickups, on occasion pick up donated food, administrative duties, assist clients with other amenities, update/maintain website, etc.  The examples mentioned are just a few of the things that are done by individuals within our organization.  There is one thing that we all do and that is – We are always there to listen, help and sometimes just provide a shoulder to lean on for those that need our assistance.  We might be considered by some as a small organization but we operate BIG and we are very proud of what we do.

In ending I would like to re-state what I quite often say and that is we would not be able to serve the number of clients that we do if it were not for the outside assistance we receive from so many.   There are no words that will ever be able to express our gratitude so the best we can say is “Thank You” to all of you on behalf of the clients we serve and from all of us at the KMFP.
