Freedom House: Children's Psychiatrist - Children's Services - Consultant
The Children’s Psychiatrist in the Children’s Services department reports to the Coordinator of Children’s Services at Freedom House.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric care, 4 hours a week, for children and adolescents, residing in a domestic violence shelter.
- Clinical responsibilities will involve diagnosis of patients, recommendation for treatment and medication management.
- Provide referrals for mental health treatment
- Perform crisis intervention
- Maintain adequate and timely case records.
- Flexible days and times
Qualifications:
- MD
- Basic computer skills
- Bilingual Spanish/English necessary
- Provide own malpractice insurance
Freedom House: Child Care Worker (two shifts, Full Time/Per Diem)
Requirements:
- 1 – 2 years of experience working with children in an educational or social services setting.
- High School Diploma; AA in Education preferred
Responsibilities:
- Follow curriculum and lesson plans
- Engage children in recreational and play activities
- Maintain effective disciplinary policies
- Maintain good communication and share concerns with clinical team
Full-Time Position Specifics:
- 18 yrs and older
- Experience working with children with disabilities and domestic violence population preferred
- Must be available to work two late shifts (12pm-8pm) during the week
- Teacher Assistant Certification preferred
- Acceptable background clearance including fingerprinting
- Must be enthusiastic and constantly alert. They must communicate effectively with the children and their parents, as well as with other child care workers. Workers should be mature, patient, understanding, articulate and have energy. Skills in music, art, drama, and storytelling also are important.
Per-Diem Position
- 18yrs or older
- Teacher Assistant Certification preferred
- Applicants must have a minimum of 2 yrs experience working in an Educational Setting (school, day care, head start program or nursery)
- Per-Diem Child Care Workers are on-call since childcare is needed sporadically.
- Acceptable background clearance including fingerprinting
Freedom House: Shift Supervisor - Weekend Shift
Qualifications: BSW, LPN, OTA or similar education with residential supervisory experience.
Responsibilties: The shift supervisor is responsible for the operation of the facility including maintenance and security in the absence of a facilities manager. The supervisor will oversee the work of all program and support employees on that shift and address problems that might arise on that shift. Responsible for supervision of resident aides, oversight of incident management, oversight of security regulations and safety regulations and other tasks assigned by the shelter director.
Freedom House: Resident Aide - Per Diem
Freedom House: Resident Aide - Weekend Shift 4pm-12-am
Reports to the Senior Resident Aide.
Qualifications:

· A minimum of six months experience working in a residential setting
· Ability to communicate in a non-threatening way with resident and staff
· Good judgment and ability to respond to emergency situations
· High School Diploma or GED
· Bi-lingual, English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, secure working environment for staff and residents
· Ensure compliance with security regulations and fire-safety regulations
· Action and follow-up on all incidents, security breaches, safety violations
· Assist Shift Supervisor with programs for residents, as directed
· Assist with maintaining cleanliness of facility, as directed
· Assist/provide ADL training in group and individual sessions
· Other tasks appropriate to position
Freedom House - Housekeeping - Per Diem/Full Time
The Housekeeper reports to the Facilities Manager.
The position requires general building maintenance which includes cleaning, repair work, plumbing and electrical work, etc. The job requires the ability to work within a team environment in general and on specific maintenance projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience with General maintenance cleaning and repair.
- Fire Safety Coordinator certificate a plus.
- Experience working in a hospital or shelter service.
- English and Spanish a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of: general cleaning and building maintenance including painting, sheet rock, electrical, plumbing, floor and ceiling tiles.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team
