This year, the theme of the 15th annual, Gala Dinner Dance was, “Field of Dreams.” The theme was chosen as a result of a Gala Dinner Dance Committee brainstorming session. Our dedicated committee – made up of CTC Moms – was focused on their dreams for the future of the CTC – expanding our programs and services to children over the age of 8. “Field of Dreams,” with its sub-theme, “If you build it, they will come...,” was a natural choice given what we had just accomplished - having completed the expansion of our building which enabled us to serve an additional 30 children.
This incredible evening, at The Venetian in Garfield, began with light jazz from the band, “The Motones.” During the cocktail hour, guests had an opportunity to bid on over 180 silent auction items! Bruce Springsteen tickets, a week-long get-a-way to a stunning resort in Puerto Rico, sporting event tickets and so much more. During dinner, the program was made even more special by a presentation by Elks Foundation Member, George Safer, who presented the CTC with a check for $7,500! The “lively” live auction was hosted by CTC Dad, Tom Harris and the winner of the CTC quilt was none other than Center Dad, Edward Males. This fantastic night came to an end after dining, dancing and a special video presentation of "...a day in the life..." at the CTC. We are so honored to receive such overwhelming support and that all of the post-event reviews were raves!
The Board of Directors would like to extend a special thank you to each member of the 2007 Gala Committee. Their commitment and passion are both amazing and inspiring. Only with their efforts are we able to reach our goals.
Thank you to the AT&T Wireless Volunteers and our CTC Staff Volunteers as well as People Magazine, The Mets Organization, Splenda, Town & Country Apothecary, Poggi Press and the members of "Quilts and Such."
