Established in July, 1989, Casa Libre is a community drop-in center for substance abuse prevention and recovery services targeting the Latino community. All staff and activities are bi-lingual and bi-cultural. The program places a special emphasis on family education and recovery, and provides couples counseling, youth counseling, and family events. Casa Libre provides needs assessment, recovery and discharge planning, individual/couples/group counseling, 12 Step support groups for the entire family, as well as exciting sober social activities for the community. A Casa Libre youth component serves young people ages 11-18, providing counseling, tutoring and social activities. Casa Libre also provides free educational presentations in Spanish or English for the community, tailored to the group's requirements.
