The Cathedral Basilica and Cristo Rey Parishes invites all Artist Parishioners to apply to exibit in the Cathedral Basilica’s first Art Gallery Event planned for Thanksgiving weekend, November 27 – 29. This is the first of a series of fund raising art exhibits for parish artists to offer original artwork for sale in the former Parish Office Building and provide a satisfactory return while contributing 30% of sales to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi (CBSFA) All contributions are designated to help service the debt on the Santo Niño Regional Catholic School. ROYALTY TO VISIT! The Crown Prince of Spain (and Prince of Asturias) His Royal Highness Felipe de Borbon y Grecia, and his wife Princess Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano will make a visit to the Cathedral Basilica on the occasion of its 400th Anniversary as a parish on October 6 at 11:00am for a brief prayer service. Tickets are available to parishioners registered at least a year by personally visiting the parish office and picking one up. Deadline to do so is October 2. The Cathedral Basilica will be closed after the 7:00am Mass and will reopen at 9:30am. Security requires you to show your ticket and personal photo ID at the door beginning at 9:30am, and be seated in the Cathedral Basilica no later than 10:30am. No one will be admitted to the Cathedral Basilica after 10:30am.

PROVIDING POSSIBILITIES - SPONSOR A STUDENT The Board of Villa Therese Catholic Clinic is, once again, organizing its long-standing “Pack-to-School” project. Children who are served by the Clinic will be supplied with backpacks, school supplies and a gift certificate for new school clothes for the 2009/10 school year. A donation of $85 will allow you to sponsor a child and take part in a program that helps children to be prepared for school and ready to learn - an essential part of staying healthy! ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC, sponsored by the Pastoral Council, will be held this year on Sunday, October 4, the Feast of St. Francis, as part of our 400th Anniversary events. The picnic will be held in the Rectory Garden, following the 12:00 Noon Mass and procession around the plaza. Plan to join us for this event to celebrate God’s love for the Cathedral Basilica community at 1:30pm in the Rectory Garden. Parishioners will be admitted after the procession has entered the garden. NO one other than working ministers will be admitted to the garden before 1:30pm. More information will follow as we approach this memorable occasion.
