Frequently Asked Questions

1. WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO HAITI WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY HUNGRY CHILDREN RIGHT HERE IN MY OWN COUNTRY?

Because this country has a number of programs to try to ensure that no child ever goes hungry. In addition to government and state programs each city or village has it's own soup kitchens, urban missions, outreaches and churches that are there to help.  Haiti has NO such programs   WE ARE ALL THEY'VE GOT.

2. DO YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN FIX THINGS IN HAITI?

No. We can't fix it. Even if the government stabilizes and the infrastructure of Haiti is put back into place it will take years for things to get back on track. Our aim is to reach people with the love of Jesus so that He can change hearts, which is the only way to really change Haiti.

3. THERE SEEMS TO BE ALOT OF HELP GOING INTO HAITI--WHY DOESN'T IT GET ANY BETTER?

There is alot of corruption in Haiti, much of what is given (through other programs and charities) never gets to the people it was intended for.  People have had to struggle for so long that sometimes they only look out for themselves. We are trying to change the attitude and get people to work together and help each other, learn to love like Jesus, and look forward to a future past today. The beef program is a good example. If the family kills the cow and eats it they are taken care of for today, but if they care for the cow and help it to have more cows they will have an ongoing supply of meat and milk for tomorrow.

4. WHO CAN GO TO HAITI?

Not everyone is called to GO but there is definately a job for everyone to do. Pray and ask the Lord how you fit into this ministry, He will lead you in the right direction.
